Frequently asked
Do I have to pay to sign up?
No. Create an account from the sign-up pageand you can write, build setlists, track your gigs and run one room without a card. Nothing expires and nothing converts on its own. Paying is for settling a room’s money, running more than one room, and having your sets transcribed.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel anytime from your account settings. Your paid access stays active through the end of the current billing period, and you won’t be charged again after that.
Can I download my data?
Yes. You can export a copy of your jokes, setlists, shows, and other content from your account. See our Privacy Policy for details on how your data is handled.
Who can see the jokes in my vault?
You, and only the comics you personally hand a bit to when you ask for notes. Jocusstaff can’t read your material — there’s no support screen or admin tool that will show it to us, which does mean that if you write in asking about a specific bit, we’ll have to ask you what it says. Everything else you create, like shows and bookings, follows the sharing rules described in our Privacy Policy.
What happens to the audio I upload as a tape?
It’s deleted within a day, unless you ask us to keep it. We transcribe the recording and measure where the room laughed, and then the audio goes. The transcript and the numbers stay for good, because that’s the part worth having a year later — and unlike the recording, it isn’t a room full of people who never agreed to anything.
If a tape is worth hearing again, tick Keep the recording when you upload it, or press Keep the recording on the tape itself while the audio is still there. One you keep stays until you delete it, and you can delete just the audio later without losing the transcript or the laugh map. Either way no one at Jocus can play a tape or read its transcript — the same as your joke vault, and for the same reason.
How much can I upload?
A tape can be up to 30 minutes, which covers a normal set, and Tape includes 5 hours of audio a month. Split a longer recording into two tapes. Uploading a set requires a Tape subscription — there is no free transcription.
How do payments between producers and performers work?
Jocus helps you connect, invite, and book, and lets you display payment handles like Venmo, PayPal, or Cash App. The actual payment is arranged directly between the producer and performer. See our Terms of Service for more.
I found a bug or have a feature request.
We’d love to hear it — email support@jocus.app with as much detail as you can (what you expected, what happened, and steps to reproduce).
