Jocus is one system for the working parts of stand-up: the material you write, the night you book, what the tape says about how it went, and the money at the end of it. Comics and producers work in the same account, on the same night.
Writing is free forever. We charge the room, not the talent. Your material, your setlists, your gigs and your first room cost nothing — no cap, no card, no expiry.
What it actually does
Six jobs that currently live in a notes app, a group chat, a spreadsheet and somebody's memory.
Keeps every version of every bit
The premise underneath a joke, the script as you say it, and every alternate punchline you've tried — so a bit that stops landing gets rewritten instead of lost. Owner-only by design: no admin or support screen here can display your material.
Tells you how long it runs
Every bit times itself from its own words, then learns your real pace from the sets you time by hand. Build a set and you know whether it fills the spot before you walk on, not after you get the light.
Books and runs the night
Post a date or a residency, fill the bill by personal invite, an open sign-up link or your own roster, then drag a running order with roles, set lengths and stage times that do their own math — and print it for the back of the room.
Hears what the room did
Upload the set off your phone and get back a transcript, a map of where the laughs landed and how long they lasted, and what the set actually ran against what you planned.
Settles the money
The door against your costs, what each comic is owed, the split with a co-producer, and — from the other chair — every gig you played and what it really paid, month by month and year over year.
Connects the two ends of the scene
A press kit that gets you booked by rooms you haven't played, a roster that remembers who you booked, and public listings so an audience can actually find the night.
What that changes for the scene
A comedy night currently exists in six places at once. The booking is in a DM thread, the running order is on the back of a flyer, the set is in a notes app, the takings are in someone's head, and what each comic is owed is in a spreadsheet nobody else can see. Every one of those is a copy of the same night, kept by a different person, and by the end of the month none of them agree.
Jocus keeps one copy. When a producer books a comic, the spot, the stage time and the fee arrive in that comic's diary as the same record — not a retyped version of it that can disagree later. When the night settles, both sides are reading the same numbers.
Nothing has to be chased, nothing has to be remembered, and nobody has to take anybody's word for what a night made.

What it costs
Writing and one room are free, for good. Tape is $9 a month and Producer is $19 — the only two things here that cost us money to give you.
